Forklift Extensions Forks:

Forklift extensions are often referred to also as either fork extensions or forklift fork extensions. They are all the same piece of equipment. Forklift Extensions are used to lengthen forklifts forks so that they can reach further underneath pallets. They do not increase the weight carrying capacity of the underlying forks.

Forklift extensions are made of heavy gauge steel and slip over the existing forks. The construction of forklift extensions is typically an upside-down U-Channel consisting of a top and two sides. The front of the extension is tapered and the back of the forklift extension has a rounded steel strap to hold the extension in place. Our forklift extensions then have a tough powder coat finish to protect them.

Our forklift extensions are specified in both length and width. The actual inside width of the forklift extension is actually 1/2" wider than the advertised width to accommodate the fork inside. So if you have 5" wide forks, buy a 5" wide forklift extension and they will be the correct size.

We sell the four most popular sizes of forklift fork extensions:

60" x 4"
60" x 5"
72" x 5"

  • Forklift Extension Construction: Steel 1/4" thick / 0.25"/ Gauge 0
  • Yellow Powder Coat Finish

How to correctly size the fork lift extensions: Forklift fork extension will fit forks up to 2" in thickness. Actual inside width is 1/2" wider than stated so if your forks are 4" wide then you should buy 4" wide forklift extensions.

Safety Issue: OSHA regulations state that the length of the forklift extensions may not exceed over one-half the length of the existing forks. If the existing fork is 48" then the fork extension cannot exceed 72". Before you use forklift extensions, it is always best to check with the forklift manufacturer.
