Pallet Jack Scale | Pallet Truck with Scale

Our XJSC Pallet Jack Scale has proven to be very popular with customers as it can take the place of two pieces of equipment and can pay for itself just through the cost savings of avoiding freight reweighs.

Scissor Lift

The Model XJML Scissor Lift Pallet Jack also takes the place of two different pieces of equipment, it combines a pallet jack and scissor lift into one.

Pallet jack trucks can be use with either open bottom skids or closed bottom wooden pallets. With the exception of the RTT12 Rough Terrain Pallet Jack, all of the other equipment is designed and manufactured for use inside warehouses and on paved parking lots. The durability of these pallet trucks is enhanced with welded steel box frame construction, powder coat finishes, and heavy duty wheels. Large pneumatic tires are used on the RTT12 pallet jack to allow its use on construction sites and dirt or gravel surfaces.

As with any forklift truck, the weight capacity of the pallet jack should be somewhat more than both the average and maximum weights you are planning to use.

A pallet jack is usually non-motorized equipment used in a warehouse, retail, manufacturing, or loading dock facility to easily move pallet materials from one location to another. These pallet jacks are not intended to be used for stacking pallets, simply for moving them from point A to point B. It consists of forks, heavy duty wheels and an upright handle which usually contains the controls to raise and lower the forks. If you are interested in an electric pallet jack, please see model XP150.

Pallet trucks are often constructed of steel, galvanized steel or galvanized metal, and are usually painted so as to resist corrosion. The steering wheels of the pallet jack are usually molded polyurethane while the load wheels are generally metal. The steering column/handle of the pallet jack is often spring loaded to make it easy to handle. Some pallet trucks have a foot pump lever which allows you to raise or lower the forks even when space constraints won"t allow using the handle.

The lowered position of the forks varies from just over two inches in a lowboy pallet jack to three inches, and is dependent upon the diameter of the load wheels. The raised position is usually six to eight inches, depending upon the model of pallet jack. The weight of most pallet trucks will range from 140 to 180 pounds and most will lift a load of 5500 pounds.

Some consideration must be given not only to the lifting weight, but to the handling and maneuverability of the loaded pallet trucks With a electric pallet jack, this is not such an issue, as most have a dead man's switch but momentum can still be a problem with undue speed in handling. This feature is particularly important where the electric pallet jack is being operated on a surface that is not level or smooth.

Consideration should also be given to the path which the pallet trucks will most commonly follow. If it contains blind corners, windowless walls or numerous obstacles which require additional maneuvering, it is not only less efficient, but can result in employee and equipment accidents. For instance where the pallet truck must move goods through a swinging door with no window, a person standing on the inside of the door can literally be run over by the pallet truck. Even if it"s a foot, the 5000 lb weight of a loaded electric pallet jack can literally crush the bones. Running over a foot is a common accident involving pallet jacks. Not all accidents can be prevented, but making the common pathways as straight and unobstructed as possible will help to reduce dangerous situations.
